As it's Christmas tomorrow and I'm spending time with family, this will be the last article from me for awhile. But before I get tipsy on Southern Comfort, here's a game you might want to check out on your Commodore 64, and it's Grifonchan's heretical roguelike dungeon crawler called Delve Deeper. A game in which you must traverse the Chasm of Evil to find loot, go on quests, and most likely fight many evil monsters along the way. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video and some info about the game below.
And here's the latest about Delve Deeper. "The world is at peace, and evil has been vanquished... Necromancers grow medicinal herbs and dark knights have opened weapon shops. But for the ones crazy or bored enough of this idylliac lifestyle, there is one place to really feel alive again: the Chasm of Evil, the last evil stronghold in the world. It's a magical labyrinth of everchanging rooms that spawn deep underground, which promise excitement, riches... and death to the daring. WIll YOU emerge victorious from its depth?"
Featuring:
- - Exciting old-school 8-bit gameplay and hires C64 graphics!
- - Randomly selected rooms: no run is like the next
- - Selectable depth
- - 3 defficulty levels
- - More than 20 different enemies
- - Multiple boss monsters
- - Mini quests, shops, and helpers
- - Event rooms
- - New Game plus features with increased difficulty
- - More than 120 sprites!
If you are emulating on VICE or TheC64, I've found that you need to set it to be a PAL machine or the menu text will not color cycle, making it hard to know which choice you have selected. Just FYI.
