If you remember Arkanoid; an arcade game first developed by Taito in 1986, with the bat like device scrolling from side to side at the bottom of the screen, bouncing an orb back and forth and smashing blocks for a high score, then you might like this latest Commodore Amiga news story. As Saberman was kind enough to let us know through Facebook, that Fredrik Johansson has made available an early 0.78 version of the Amiga game 'MeetBall' : An Arkanoid and Pong mash up that can be seen in this new footage provided below.
Here's the latest from the creator. "MeetBall is a multiplayer bat & ball game, although you can play solo too. Honestly though, playing solo isn't fun. It's called MeetBall for a reason. This project has a been a way for me to learn assembly language. This is my first and only attempt at making a game! Also do note, there can be frame drops using stock 68000 CPU but faster Amigas should be all OK. Can be started from Workbench if you have > 512KB chip mem".
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
- A PAL Amiga 500 (sorry no NTSC)
- + 512KB slow mem (if you want music)
