Inertia - An Atari XE/XL conversion from the BBC Micro version by Fandal and Buddy

Here on Indie Retro News we do love writing about the Atari XL/XE, I mean seriously we can't stop featuring the latest games released for this system. Well here we are with another story sent to us by Saberman, and it's the latest game of 'Inertia'; An Atari XE/XL conversion from the BBC Micro version by Fandal and Buddy! To coincide with this Atari XL/XE news update, Saberman has also done a video showing the game being played.

7.7.7.7 - A new monochrome game for the ZX Spectrum by Anhot Studio

We've been flooded with awesome news this week, from SERAPHIMA for the ZX Spectrum, to Zeta Wing II on the C64, and International Karate RCX/RC 2023 for the Atari XL/XE. Well once again we are going back to the ZX Spectrum for some more gaming news, as thanks to Saberman contacting us recently, he has told us that Anhot studio has entered their latest game of 7.7.7.7 for the ZX Spectrum into the Yandex Retro Games Battle. A monochrome game in which you must descend into the underworld to strike at the very heart of evil.

COINZ are Mine! - Another enjoyable ZX Spectrum game entered into the Yandex Retro Games Battle Compo!

Another game entered into the Yandex Retro Games Battle 2023 that took us completely by surprise, is Drunk Fly's fabulous arcade platformer of ' COINZ are MINE! '. This game that is available to play right now, doesn't just feature lovely speccy graphics, but from the video below, looks to have great character animation, a cool soundtrack, plenty of deadly enemies on screen, and an ever increasing challenge as you try to grab the coins and bring them back to the gate. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a video showing the game in action.

BORSCH (BETA) - Welcome to a DOOM like experience on your ZX Spectrum 128k

It was only just the other month that we showed you an eye opening Quake engine created by Alone Coder together with Dragons' Lord, that was running at an impressive speed on a standard ZX Spectrum 128k. Well fast forward to today and if you thought that was indeed impressive, then as of right now you can try out Vladimir Zubarev's (Dragons` Lord) latest Yandex Retro Games Battle entry of BORSCH. A beta version of a new game engine which aims to bring a Doom like experience to the ZX Spectrum 128k running at an impressive frame rate. 

A Collection of Four Adventure Games - Play the latest MSX/2 games entered into the Yandex Retro Games Battle!

Even more awesome retro game news to get through, as thanks to another heads up earlier today from our good friend Tom, he has told us that Andrey Rodionov has entered into the Yandex Retro Games Battle competition 'A Collection of Four Adventure Games' for the MSX/2. Basically different games such as a space adventure game with some arcade elements or a maze adventure all belonging to the roguelike genre. To coincide with this news story, Oleg Sen!n and Saberman have done a 15min+ video of all the MSX/2 games being played!

Welcome to Adventure Life - A Dizzy like fan game released for the ZX Spectrum by Free Pixel Studio

We've featured many Dizzy fan games over the years, games such as Adventure Land Dizzy, Dizzy The Last Hero, Sunken Castle Dizzy and even the brilliant Dizzy The Last Hero v2 to name but a few. But now there's a new Dizzy styled game that caught our eye, and that's 'Welcome to Adventure Life' by Free Pixel Studio. A new ZX Spectrum game in which you play as an inquisitive cyclops who embraces the thrill of adventure! To coincide with this news, Oleg Sen!n and Saberman have provided a video showing the game being played.

SERAPHIMA - An impressive looking game released for the ZX Spectrum by Zosya Entertainment

ZOSYA entertainment have made some great games for the Yandex Retro Games Battle over the years, what with games such as Drift! and Valley of Rains announced by us previously. Well it looks as if they haven't finished with the speccy community just yet. As thanks to another heads up by Saberman, we've been told they've also released a high quality game for the ZX Spectrum called 'SERAPHIMA'. As one user puts it "Wow, just love that massive sprite/single sprite collection, incredibly well done! I wish more games had done similar, just looks so impressive... this is great."

CyberPunks 2 coming 5th May 2023 to the Amiga gets new demo footage!

It was only just the other day that we featured Mutation Software's latest creation of 'Cyberpunks 2'; An upcoming Amiga game as a sequel to Cyberpunks; a top down shooter that was also released for the Amiga developed by Mutation and published by Core Design way back in 1993. Well if you're hoping for some new updates for this upcoming sequel, then you are in luck! As Saberman has just done a video of the demo for Cyberpunks 2. A demo which is going to be released along side the main game come 5th May 2023 for Amiga AGA and CD32.

Cursed Demons Of Wallachia - A Vampiric game released for the ZX Spectrum by Furillo Productions

If you're looking for a new game to play over the weekend, then we have just been told by Saberman, that if you head on over to the link below, you can play Furillo Productions latest ZX Spectrum game of 'Cursed Demons Of Wallachia'. A new game in which the creators have said is a colourful platformer game homage to the classic Hammer's Dracula horror movies for the ZX Spectrum 48k! To coincide with this late hour news story, Saberman has also done a video of the game being played.

Zeta Wing II - Sarah Jane Avory's C64 Parallax Shoot 'em up sequel has been released!

Another cool news story for the C64 community as we've just been told by both Sarah Jane Avory and Saberman, that the sequel to Zeta Wing which is a Indie Retro News 2020 Game of the Year, has been made available to download and play via the itch io website below. This game of which we have featured many times before, is a fabulous top scrolling shooter developed by the ex-SEGA game developer and author: Sarah Jane Avory who also released the incredible GOTY RPG for the C64 called ' Briley Witch Chronicles '.

Scorch - A Scorched Earth clone for the Atari XL/XE gets a single player final version.

This game might not look like much, with its bare backgrounds and tiny coloured objects, but this is actually a new Atari XL/XE release that comes across very much like Scorched Tanks on the Amiga and the MS-DOS game Scorched Earth. Developed by a team of people such as Pecus, Pirx, Miker, Adam, Bocianu, Emkay and Fox, Scorch isn't just a single player game with up to 6 AI players, but your ultimate goal is to wipe out your opponent by working out the correct trajectory that your Baby Missile flies through the air and hits dead on target!
