Chaos Engine from 1993 was an incredible game developed by the very famous Bitmap Brothers. A game that featured one or two players battling it out as a top down shooter genre against the evil creations of the titular Chaos Engine through four landscapes and a very decent set of weaponry! Well if you remember this fantastic game on the Amiga, Marvin Hardy has not only released the second preview of the game(lots of bugs), but you can see the game being played in this footage provided by Saberman.
So far we still don't have much information to go on and if it's going to be turned into a full game, but here's the latest from the twitter update which can be found linked below. "Chaos Engine C64 - Thought I would share with you all a 'play in browser' link so you can get a feel of the game progress so far. Added an options screen where you are able to choose 'hard'(default) or 'inertia' scrolling, more options will be added.". And that's all we have on the game, so watch this space for further updates.

Looks amazing. Looking forward to this port of this classic.
ReplyDeleteSounds amazing too!
DeleteGood!
ReplyDeleteIt appears to have captured the slick Bitmap Brother's production values. Looking good so far.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this relase and will be happy to play this! Please reconsider the music though. The beat could grow annoying pretty much very fast I am afraid
ReplyDeleteVery cool, but what happened to the nice looking hi-res (overlay) sprites?
ReplyDeleteI don't have a C64 but that's one of my favorite games! Also not easy to remake, on 8-bit. Looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteVery very nice
ReplyDeleteI tried it today, the graphics and music are very impressive, but the gameplay and control requires further improvement.
