Turrican - An all time classic game gets another tease for the MSX1 by TheGeps!

If you've been following of all our articles in relation to the work in progress Turrican for the MSX by TheGeps, Bitcaffe and Toni Galvez, then you'll be pleased to know that as of today, the team behind the game have provided some new work in progress footage. For those of you that haven't heard of this all time classic before. Turrican was originally released in 1990 by Rainbow Arts and programmed by Manfred Trenz with an incredible soundtrack by Chris Huelsbeck. The game featured great shooting action, powerful weaponry and amazing game play that is still loved to this day.

Here is what the creator says about this rather cool looking Turrican for the MSX1 which features a top quality soundtrack by Bitcaffe (aka Gabriel Caffarena). "Added rotating laser collisions, some enemies movements, enemies positions update and save, bug fixing. Improved bullets' collisions". And that's all we have on the game so far, but we will keep you up to date as we get more from the developer!

  1. Hi there, thanks for sharing! Can you add some credits to both Toni Galvez (main sprite design and animation + some tiles enanching + digitized voice) and Davide Bottino/TokiC64Remastered (walkers sprites design and animation, Gauntlet "Fi(r)st" Boss design)?
And thanks for your kind words, as always :)

  2. Thank you, yep only Davide was missing but I was very happy when he offered to draw some gfx for me. I was following his work on Toki C64 Remastered so I was aware of his skills 😸
