As a Kid I used to love watching the 1980s TV show Knightmare, a show in which children had to not only guide a friend wearing a "Helmet of Justice" – a headpiece that blocks their field of vision. But this had to be done through a very creepy medieval environment, using their wits to overcome puzzles, obstacles and the unusual characters they meet along the journey. Well this TV show that spawned a number of computer games such as those released on the Amstrad and ZX Spectrum, will hopefully be getting a much deserved and more enjoyable Knightmare inspiration for the ZX Spectrum. A new version of the game by Sausageware Games with publishing by BitmapSoft.
If you missed out on our previous announcement of the game when it was first mentioned on IndieRetroNews way back in Feb of this year. This is what the creator said about Knightmare for the ZX Spectrum that is linked (here). " Hi retro friends! Here at Sausageware Games, I'm working on a new Knightmare game for the Speccy with publishing by BitmapSoft! I'm still salty about the original 8-bit version of the classic TV show, so I've decided to do it myself. I'll be posting updates as I progress, so follow me if you're interested!". So yes if you loved the TV show back in the 80's, then it may be worth checking out any future updates of Knightmare by Sausageware Games!
I absolutely loved the Knightmare TV show. I'd rush home every Thursday to catch it. Such happy times. I look forward to playing this video game version. :-)
