A late hour Commodore Amiga news story has just appeared, as we've recently found out through through Facebook, that HooGames2017 has made available a playable test version of his in development Amiga game 'Dr.Dangerous'. A game that has already gained positive feedback such as "Wow! From the first few seconds, you can see that it will be a standout title, character and style in abundance" and "Great character animation and very nice graphics". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the game below.
Here is what was said via the itch io page. "My first attempt to make an Amiga game. I'm using the Scorpion Engine and this is the result so far. This is a test version where you can play the first 7 levels. There are still some bugs in the game. The downloadable Amiga digital version is an ADF file designed for use with an Amiga emulator. For best results, we recommend playing the game using the WinUAE emulator. Alternatively, use a suitable utility such as "adf2disk" to write the ADF file to a floppy disk to play on real Amiga hardware".
COMPATIBILITY
- Supports A500 (ECS Agnus), A500+, A600, A1200, A2000 (ECS Agnus), A3000, A4000, and CD32.
- Requires 1MB Chip RAM + 1MB Other RAM or 2MB Chip RAM.
Looks really nice; hope it gets some atmospheric soundtracks for several locations.
ReplyDeleteReally nice graphics and animation. Looking good so far.
ReplyDeleteSeems a very interesting and with great graphics and probably too great sound and animation:
ReplyDelete"Best use with an emulator"...
ReplyDeleteSigh 😑.
i thought it meant best used with WinUAE if you are going to use an emulator
DeleteEvery time when i see a game made with Scorpion Engine i'm asking myself if it would be possible to make games in the quality of Elfmania, Mr. Nutz or Turrican 2 with smooth scrolling on more parallax levels.
ReplyDeleteAs for scorpion’s abilities.. Turrican 2: yes.. mr nutz: Yes, pretty much. Elfmania? No.. it hits the hardware too hard for weird effects.
