Another great heads up for you all, as we've recently been told through Facebook, that Clebin Games is working on a high quality ZX Spectrum 128k remake of the 1980's game of Gilligan's Gold / Bagman. A game which spawned a number of more recent versions for the Amiga and C64 such as Bagman Strikes Back, Bagman Comes Back, and Super Bagman. To coincide with this news, we've got the latest footage of the game below, as well as a bit of info about the gameplay itself.
According to the wiki for Bagman, The objective of the game is to maneuver the bagman through various mine shafts, picking up money bags and placing them in a wheelbarrow at the surface of the mine. The player must avoid pursuing guards, moving ore carts, and descending elevators. The player may temporarily stun the guards by striking them with a pickaxe or by dropping money bags on them when they are below the player on the same ladder. The player may move between the three screens which make up the level via shafts and on the surface.
Dev Notes : "My hope with this remake is to take what that was great about the originals (the novel concepts, use of strategy and variety of game mechanics) and fix some of the glaring flaws (the primitive graphics, finicky controls and insane difficulty level). Gilligan's Mine also adds two new levels with different graphical themes.. Note: the music and SFX in this beta are a little, er, rough".
