Un Señor Con Sombrero - A challenging Monochrome Platformer for the ZX Spectrum by Kraptol

If you love games with a Monochrome style such as the more recent release of 'TONY' or the 2023 game of 7.7.7.7, then make sure to check out Kraptol's new speccy game of 'Un Señor Con Sombrero'. A game in which playing as the elegant and stubborn top hat collector Dominique Lamand, you must embark on a mission to recover six of his finest top hats. To coincide with this news, not only do we have a new gameplay video from Saberman, but the creator has also provided the story.

And here's the game story! "Dominique Lamand, an elegant and stubborn top hat collector, embarks on a mission to recover six of his finest top hats. These hats were accidentally swallowed by the protagonist snake from the game Snake and are now scattered throughout the labyrinthine caves where the snake once lived. Although the snake has passed away, Dominique’s mission won’t be easy. The caves are filled with other creatures that will complicate his adventure. To overcome these obstacles, Dominique must collect magical beans. Some of the bean roots have grown over time, blocking certain passages, and only with these magical beans will he be able to delve deep into the cave and retrieve his precious hats".

  1. Wow this looks really atmospheric. I love this kind of graphics style very much, and I wished these games were often also available on other platforms. :3 Maybe one day I shall have my ZX.

  2. If I understand correctly, the game is made in ZX Spectrum Game Maker (work in progress), which is based on Boriel Basic, among others. So it is a BASIC game, which is compiled into assembler for speed.
