If you remember playing Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion or Mickey Mania back in the day, especially on consoles such as the Sega Mega Drive, then you are going to love this latest news story . As we have found out that DomKid, who is behind games such as the Castlevania fan game of Maria Renard's Revenge. Is still working on the new game of 'Forest of Illusion' via the Scorpion Engine. As in his words "new game inspired by the Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion and Mickey Mania series, some improvements and additions to the Ansimuz graphic art". To coincide with this news, we've got the original video from 2023, and the latest gameplay video posted just recently!
While it is very early days for this game especially as it is still in an alpha(?) stage of development. From what we can see via the two videos above which was provided by DomKid. Forest of Illusion will feature not just amazing graphics, but Parallax backgrounds, cute and charming animations, multiple enemy types, and a real nod to those classic Sega Mickey games many of us still love to this day.... So watch this space!
Update : Have now added a new level 3 video. The developer was noted as saying "Forest of Illusion - Amiga CD32/1200 with Scorpion Engine Wip demo - level 3"
Wow! Great graphics and parallax scrolling and good use of colours but i will add some nice touches for the animations for the final release! I know it's for Aga only but i wonder if those results can also can be achieved,of course with a Little less colours on screen, on ocs with 512kb expansion too?! Well...by now it's seems already better than the rushed conversion of Aladdin for 1200,so keep up the good work!
