SUPERLEO - A family friendly endless runner game for the Amstrad CPC

I was a bit late with this news story considering it was first mentioned around 17 days ago, but if you haven't been following the Amstrad homebrew scene, then come and take a look at Pakal33's new(ish) Amstrad CPC game of 'SUPERLEO'. A family friendly endless runner game for the Amstrad CPC which was created using C and Assembler (with SDCC). To coincide with this late news, we've got two gameplay videos, one from Saberman and the other from Xenomorph.

And here's the latest from the developer. "Another takeover of one of my old BASIC programs created at the base for the little ones of the leisure center. It was to evolve a Smurf avoiding tree trunks. Nothing very difficult at the time... Today, I'm taking him back with a character Leo, beast apart(1), in tribute to my friend Super Leo (Sebastien L.) who also shared the passion of theCPC Amstrad. This version should offer a little more challenge than at the time and for both both the young and old.

DEVELOPMENT:

  • Also in C and Assembler (with SDCC), I still have progress to make on sprite management and Horizontal scroll.. Is it possible to do a horizontal scrolling other than all the 2pixels in mode 0.

    1. Many people call it this way, but it's not at all called a "parallax" that is hard, rare and always cheated on a CPC because of the transparency required to have a background moving above another one, this is called "differential" scrollers (they are all on the same Z plan)
