Robot Jet Action 2 - C64portal's upcoming Commodore Amiga game is being created using the Scorpion Engine!

We've been told that Carrion(c64portal) has shown new footage of the upcoming Commodore Amiga OCS game of 'Robot Jet Action 2'. A game that was not only released for the Commodore 64 back in 2022, but it featured lots of challenging levels, different themed worlds and so much more which made it rather entertaining! While we still don't know when the game will be released, the creator has announced along side the video, that Robot Jet Action 2 is now being developed using Earok's Scorpion Engine.

Here's the latest about the game update from the creator. "Hello. Time for an update and announcements about what's happening with the game. About 2-3 weeks ago I started playing with Scorpion Engine and I have to say that my jaw dropped right away. In short, the amount of the work in this amazing tool is beyond description. Wow! The support of the community around SE is also of great help. Thanks to all on Discord and here on EAB. Since May of this year, basically nothing has happened with the game. I stuck".

"The performance of the BB version of the game was OK as well as I was able to manage the memory quite well, but adding new things/features was going very slowly for me. During 2 weeks with SE I've accomplished the same functionality as with 6 months! Of development with BB. OK, the graphics was ready, but still. Working in SE is so fast. A big advantage is also the fact that many things I've implemented in BB similar to what Earok did in SE. For example, Copper's colors in the background are implemented the same way".

"If it comes to the performance of the RJA2 it is very good at this moment. SE is flexible because you can easily determine, for example, what can be a sprite and what can be a bob, you can use rainbows, parallax scroll, etc. and test the whole thing on an ongoing basis in fs-uae or winuae. I prefer FS-UEA. All this dev environment works just great. So I am staying with SE and the next update... well, soonish"

And that's all we know so far, as soon we know more we will let you all know!

  1. I think maybe because I've been playing a lot of Astro Bot on PS5 lately that I thought this at first an 'Amiga Bot'. It looks nice though. :)
