It feels like it was only just yesterday that we announced, that not only had Tony been released for the Amiga, Atari XL and C64 by Monochrome Productions, but we also had the pleasure of playing Go! Tony Go! as a spin off from the game for the Atari XL/XE. Well fast forward to today and boy do we have some pretty special news for you. As while some of you couldn't stand the monochrome style in the Commodore 64 version of Tony, the team behind the game are about to launch a full colour version at some point later today. As in the words of the devs "Prepare for invasion of colour. Whole VIC-II palette is involved".
Embark on a pixelated journey inspired by Tony Halik, the real-life Polish explorer and filmmaker whose adventures spanned continents and decades. He was exploring ancient civilisations for NBC, Tony's love of discovery knew no bounds. Now it's your turn to step into Tony's digital shoes and unravel the mysteries of Montezuma's Castle in this nostalgic 8-bit homage.

See, put a bit more effort in and it looks much better.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that people have the choice, but style is subjective. I for one like the monochrome 🙂
DeleteBig improvement! While I can appreciate monochrome gfx, the previous version looked too dull for any longer play sessions.
