Ask anyone who's played Mega Lo Mania, and they'd probably tell of mighty conquests across different zones, filled with voices such as ' The design is ready ' and ' We are running low on elements '. Well this classic strategy game from 1991, has not only been given the festive treatment by NeonCentipede, but according to him, he has released this festive level set via a Mega-Lo-Mania level Editor. To coincide with this news, you can check out the latest footage from this 'update', as well as the full dev notes from the creator.
Dev Notes : "Over 15 years since I first tried my hand at producing a Mega-Lo-Mania level Editor, I finally released this festive level set! Held back for many years in an unfinished state, the recent technological developments have finally given me the tools to fill in the gaps I never wanted... From being unable to record new audio in a timely fashion, to being unable to find an artist to produce the new intro screens (despite a few promises along the way), these problems are now a thing of the past".
"I am aware it isn't perfect... graphics could do with some hand-edited love, and other minor tweaks, but with the rise of compact gaming options this is something I'd actually like to play myself. It was way back in the late '90s when my first MLM edits were ever made, but around 2008-2013 in particular, I had a go at bringing it all together with an Editor. It worked (for the most part) and amongst the themes/ideas that came about, a Christmas theme was amongst them; lending itself heavily to additional tile variants by reducing the core Island colours to those which would work within the theme".
"Sadly, it was shelved, but never forgotten, dusted off and with some minor tweaks, now hopefully worth of a release".
