Frogger RX - An Arcade-like version of Frogger for the ZX Spectrum is finally here!

When I was but a youngster I just loved playing the 1981 Arcade game of Frogger by Konami. It had loads of charm, great gameplay for kids and it really made you feel for the safety of those little green frogs as they hopped their way across a busy road, then across a river of logs and Crocodiles to get to the other side. So to get an update from happycodingzx, that he has released the final version of 'Frogger RX', which is basically an Arcade-like version of Frogger for the ZX Spectrum, I just had tell everyone about it here on IndieRetroNews.

And here's the latest from the developer. "Frogger RX is a 'from scratch' conversion of the classic Konami arcade game from 1981. As one of the most popular golden age games, many clones exist for the ZX Spectrum, but none include all the features of the original. I decided to try and put that right. Coding wise, this was a deceptively tricky challenge. Whilst gameplay is simple, the challenge is always to replicate the arcade experience in terms of speed and smoothness - but all in software! There's a lot moving around at once, and with no hardware sprites or scrolling support, I had to come up with plenty of tricks to pull it off. I hope you enjoy it!"
