Wardner - Toaplan/Taito's Arcade game is coming to the Commodore Amiga via RetroRic [DEMO UPDATE]

Fresh off the press with an exclusive reveal for the Commodore Amiga community, as we've recently been informed by our good friend Aaron White, that the 1987 Arcade game of 'Wardner', is coming to the Amiga via RetroRic and developed using Earok's Scorpion Engine. If you've not heard of this game before, it's a side-scrolling platformer developed by Toaplan and published in arcades worldwide by Taito in 1987. A game in which you play as Dover on a journey to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Mia from the evil warlock. In light of this news, we've got some new footage of the game below.

And here's the full details. "My current work on bringing Toaplan's Wardner to the humble Amiga platform. Released in arcades and published by Taito in 1987, Toaplan's Wardner is an action platformer in much the same vein as Ghosts 'n Goblins/Ghouls 'n Ghosts.  The similarities end there though as Wardner has its own special mechanics and flavour to bring to the genre. Players assume the role of a child named Dover on a journey to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Mia from the dastardly warlock Mr Wardner".

  7. Yeah , please do that. We never had proper version of Double Dragon on the Amiga. These days you can even sample entire original soundtrack to 2 channels /22khz/8bit and remaining 2 channels leave for sound effects. Same way as OnEscapee HD version is working. It will just take 50Mb of data space.I'm willing to buy that, as many others here.

  11. Very nice but it would probably be executed also in ocs. Scorpion engine while great cannot really show amiga ocs power. It still seems a little limited...
